EuroBridge is a freight forwarding and logistics company with its head office in Qormi, central Malta. It handles groupage and full-load shipments by trailer and container, customs clearance, air freight, insurance and warehousing from a 6,000 square metre storage network. Send your enquiry through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page and we will pass it to the company.

Anyone who has tried to bring furniture, stock or machinery to Malta knows that an island economy depends on freight. EuroBridge Shipping Services is a freight forwarder based in Qormi, in the middle of the island, which arranges the transport of goods into and out of Malta by road, sea and air. It combines shipping, customs paperwork and storage under one roof, so a single contact can follow a consignment from the point of collection to the final delivery address.

The business began in 1995 and has grown into one of the leading forwarders on the island. On VisitMalta.co.uk it appears in our directory of courier and freight services in Malta, and this page explains what it does, who it suits and how to start a conversation.

Who EuroBridge are and how they began

EuroBridge started as a specialist in groupage shipments from Italy. Groupage means that several customers' goods share a trailer or container, so a smaller load can travel at a fraction of the cost of hiring a whole vehicle. In the early years the firm also ran groupage from the United Kingdom, along with full-load shipments, customs clearance and door-to-door delivery. Three decades on, it moves cargo across the globe using every available form of transport.

The company holds an ISO quality management certification and Authorised Economic Operator status. The latter is granted by customs authorities to trusted, compliant firms in the international supply chain, and it reflects standards in customs compliance, record-keeping, financial solvency and safety and security. EuroBridge also holds the Equality Mark, which recognises a commitment to gender equality and inclusion in the workplace.

Its culture is built on transparency, open communication and mutual respect, and its motto is Yours To Count On. Staff also take part in charity and wellbeing events, including a coffee morning at Dar Bjorn in Żebbuġ that raised awareness of ALS.

Groupage and full-load shipping

Groupage is the heart of the business. Weekly groupage services run from across Europe, with container groupage from Turkey and from China, and agents using shared electronic systems to give regular updates while the goods are on the move. A free freight consultation is offered to help you decide whether groupage or a dedicated load is the better fit.

For larger consignments there are full-load services, either a full container load or a full trailer load, from or to almost anywhere. EuroBridge is not tied to any single shipping line, so it can compare options and build a package around what you are sending. Weekly full-load trailer departures link Europe and Malta, and door-to-door delivery is available, including loading and unloading in Malta with the firm's own haulage.

The trailer fleet matters here. The first trailer was bought in 2010 and the company now owns more than 60, including box and curtain-sided trailers, megas and step trailers. Each is fitted with GPS tracking so customers can be kept up to date, and the fleet carries the equipment needed for hazardous goods under the ADR rules. Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor consultants are also available to help businesses manage the risks of transporting dangerous goods by road. Customs clearance and paperwork

Customs is where many shipments stall, and EuroBridge treats it as a core service. The team handles import and export declarations for both EU and non-EU goods, with a system linked directly to Maltese customs and to the National Statistics Office, so duties can be worked out before anyone travels to a customs office. Air and sea clearance are both covered, documents are archived for later retrieval, and the company will check the duties on a commodity before you buy, at no obligation.

Typically a commercial invoice, a packing list and the transport documents are needed, and some cargo requires permits, licences or certificates. The team also helps customers prepare information ahead of arrival, which is the most reliable way to avoid avoidable hold-ups, and it follows up with the relevant parties if a shipment is held until the cargo can be released. Most consignments are cleared within 12 to 24 hours of arrival when the paperwork is complete. Common causes of delay include missing or incorrect documents, wrong commodity classification, incorrect declarations of value or origin, unpaid duties or VAT, inspections and missing EORI or VAT details. Goods imported by a Maltese company also raise tax questions, so our overview of Malta tax for UK nationals and the corporate tax structure page are useful background reading.

Air freight, courier, haulage and insurance

Not everything travels by trailer. EuroBridge organises air freight with the same attention as sea freight, which suits urgent or high-value items. Domestic haulage covers inland transport within Malta, so goods arrive on time and as cost-effectively as possible, and a shipping insurance service is offered with fast reimbursement on claims.

The firm is quick with quotations: over 90 per cent of quotes for most services go out within an hour of the enquiry, and the remainder within 24 hours. A fuel and BAF surcharge was introduced in March 2026 because of rising fuel costs across Europe, so ask for a current, itemised quotation when you plan a shipment. Visitors coming by air will find our page on flights to Malta from the UK useful when planning travel alongside a shipment.

Warehousing, storage and 3PL

EuroBridge operates two warehouses in Qormi with a combined 6,000 square metres of space, close to the main roads and transport links. The Tal-Ħlas logistics depot has loading bays, a dedicated deliveries area for last-mile distribution and large loading zones for different vehicle sizes. Security includes 24-hour CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and fire detection, and fingerprint access limits key staff to particular areas. Stock is insured and every movement is audited.

Storage can be short or long term, from small quantities to bulk palletised goods, with a temperature-controlled option and a professional packing service. Third-party logistics, or 3PL, means EuroBridge can run the whole chain for you: inventory management, order fulfilment, picking and packing, handling and final delivery. That suits online retailers and shops that want stock held close to their customers. The warehouse is open Monday to Friday, and you can store goods even if they reached Malta through another carrier.

Because cargo handling, storage and distribution sit in the same Qormi operation, goods are touched less often between arrival and final delivery, which reduces the chance of damage and delay. Whole shipments can be brought straight into storage, with transfers, administration, customs clearance and unloading handled together and no hidden fees.

Head office, depot and the team

The head office stands across two main roads in the centre of Qormi. Its industrial-style design is filled with natural light, and the building houses the warehouse operation alongside meeting rooms, workstations, break areas and terraces. Separate teams cover sales, bookings, operations, accounts and human resources, and the firm recruits through its careers page.

Qormi sits in the middle of the island, which makes it a convenient base for reaching the harbour, industrial estates and shops, and the depot is positioned for efficient distribution across Malta. Our guide to Valletta shows how the capital relates to the surrounding towns, and our introduction to the islands gives a wider introduction to the islands for new arrivals.
