London School of Commerce Malta, which the school itself shortens to LSC Malta, is a business and management college at the Europa Centre on St Anne Street in Floriana, the district that sits directly outside the walls of Valletta. It was established in June 2014 and forms part of the London School of Commerce Global Group. For UK readers the key point is that its degrees are taught in English and tied to a British university, so a student can start in Malta and complete the final stage with the University of Suffolk.

The school teaches graduate and postgraduate business programmes alongside a range of English language courses. It is licensed in Malta as a Further and Higher Education Institution, with licence number 2013-FHI-025. You can compare it with other schools in our directory of international schools in Malta and our directory of language schools in Malta.

About LSC Malta and its group

The Malta campus aims to be a leading global higher education provider on the island, in line with the Maltese government's wish to promote the country as a higher education hub. The student body is a mix of nationalities and cultures, so classes are international from the first day. Its learning philosophy rests on close contact between staff and students, high standards, and a focus on employability, entrepreneurship and innovation.

The wider group was built by its founder, Tim Andradi, and has campuses in several countries, with more than 10,000 full-time students and 200,000 alumni worldwide. Its approach is called East meets West, linking institutions in the UK, the US, China, Canada, Australia, Malta, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Middle East.

Master of Business Administration

The MBA is a one year programme priced at €6,950, designed to accelerate careers through the study of business management and leadership in a global setting. It welcomes people from many academic backgrounds. Core modules cover leadership, marketing, financial analysis, strategic management and research methods, and students choose electives such as corporate finance, international business and strategic marketing.

The final stage is a major project, taken as a business development proposal, an integrated case study or a dissertation, subject to approval by the programme leader. Students typically spend the first two thirds of the course with LSC Malta and then move to the University of Suffolk for the last third. The degree is delivered at UK Level 7, which matches the European Qualifications Framework Level 7 standard.

To be admitted you need a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with good grades, equivalent to a UK honours degree, you must be at least 21, and your English must be at least CEFR level B2.

Bachelor with Honours in Business Studies

The undergraduate degree takes three years and costs €14,950. It gives a broad grounding in how businesses operate, together with practical skills in information technology, analysis and communication. Levels 4 and 5 cover subjects such as marketing, accounting, organisational behaviour, economics, human resources and project management, and Level 6 adds global strategic management and a dissertation or business project.

As with the MBA, students normally study the first two thirds in Malta before transferring to the University of Suffolk for the final third. The programme is delivered at UK Level 6. Applicants need two A Levels or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Maltese authorities, must be at least 18, and need English at CEFR level B2 or higher.

English language courses

LSC Malta also runs an English Language Academy, and programmes start every Monday. Academic English develops speaking, listening, reading and writing for entry levels from B1 upwards, and runs for 11 weeks or for 6, 9 or 12 months, with fees from €1,450 to €4,450 depending on the length of your study. Business English is a 10 week course at €2,000 for students who need extra English for a British degree, or who want to improve their workplace English, and it requires B1 or IELTS 5.0.

The school also lists General English, Pre-Sessional English and an Award in Professional English among its courses. On arrival, students sit a placement test, receive a welcome pack, meet the academic team and join a class of their own level. Applicants attend an admissions interview before starting. If you want to compare other options, AM Language is also in our directory.
