Global College Malta is a private higher education college based at SmartCity Malta in Ricasoli, on the eastern side of Grand Harbour close to Kalkara and the Three Cities. It teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across four schools: business, economics and finance, health and social care, and logistics, operations and informatics, and it also supervises a Doctor of Business Administration. The college has more than a decade of experience in Malta and works closely with local industry.

The college aims to offer technology-driven learning that connects academic knowledge with real-world practice, and its values stress inclusion, respect, innovation and a student-focused approach. Lecturers include entrepreneurs, senior executives and academic scholars, and students come from all over the world, so classroom discussion draws on a wide mix of experience.

Its students are largely working professionals who want an accredited qualification alongside a job, which shapes everything from timetables to payment plans. If you are weighing a move to Malta for study or work, our guide to relocating to Malta from the UK is a good companion, and the international schools directory lists other educational providers on the island.

Licence, accreditation and recognition

The college is licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority as a Further and Higher Education Institution, under licence number 2012-TC-005. Its courses are accredited or recognised and mapped to the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework, which means that each award sits at a stated level, from level 5 for diplomas to level 7 for master's degrees. It is also accredited by QAHE, the international association for quality assurance in pre-tertiary and higher education.

Students who pay tax in Malta may be able to use the Get Qualified initiative: all of the college's courses are eligible, and a student may apply for a tax rebate of up to 70 per cent of tuition fees after finishing. If you are relocating and want to understand how this might apply, our Malta tax guide for UK nationals is a sensible starting point, and CLA Malta is our featured partner for tax and relocation support.

Programmes by school

The School of Business covers undergraduate degrees in management, marketing, management with human resources, and tourism and events management, a top-up degree in business and management, an undergraduate diploma in management and awards in foundation business and business studies. At postgraduate level it offers the Master of Business Administration, master's degrees in management, marketing management, human resources and tourism and events, a postgraduate diploma with pathways, and the Doctor of Business Administration.

The School of Economics and Finance teaches a BA in Accounting and Finance and a diploma in financial crime compliance and anti-money laundering, relevant to Malta's financial services sector. The School of Health and Social Care offers a BA in Management with Psychology, an undergraduate diploma in foundation medical science and a master's in health and social care management. The School of Logistics, Operations and Informatics covers a BA in Information Technology for Business and an MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, which suits a country that depends on shipping and trade, and on an iGaming industry that needs technology skills.

Pathways from foundation award to degree

Not everyone arrives with the right credits for a degree, so the college runs an Award in Foundation in Business and Management, a full-time course of 40 weeks, or about nine months, at level 4 and worth 60 ECTS credits. It suits people who have been out of education for a while, whose earlier subjects do not match the degree they want, or who lack enough credits to enter directly. The curriculum is built to line up with the modules students meet next, and successful students can progress to the undergraduate diploma at level 5 or the BA in Management at level 6.

The BA in Management with Psychology is a three-year, full-time degree worth 180 ECTS credits at level 6, with modules such as principles of business management, human resources management, marketing management and effective leadership. Entry routes are flexible: the college looks at earlier qualifications, prior learning and experience, with a Maltese matriculation certificate or an equivalent normally expected for the bachelor's programmes. The MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management follows the same level 7, 90 ECTS structure as the general MBA, with a final project that can be a consultancy report, a business plan or a traditional academic study.

How study works

Teaching normally takes place in the evening, two or three times a week, so that people in full-time work can attend. Modular courses let students pause and resume as their circumstances change, and supportive sessions help those who have been out of education for some time to get up to speed. Each programme has a dedicated student support executive, and every student is assigned an academic tutor, who gives one-to-one guidance during the final project or dissertation.

The undergraduate diploma in management is a one-year, level 5 award worth 60 ECTS credits, taught in the evening and equal to the first year of the three-year BA in Management, which leads to a level 6 degree. The MBA is a level 7 programme worth 90 ECTS, studied full time over twelve months in day or evening classes, and is aimed at middle and senior managers in commercial, public and voluntary organisations. Entry normally requires a good degree or a graduate-level professional qualification, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent for those whose first language is not English, and the college encourages two or more years of relevant work experience.

Intakes, fees and support services

Courses start on fixed Mondays throughout the year. Undergraduate programmes such as the diploma in management have 2027 intakes in January, April, July, September and December, and the MBA has additional start dates, including March, May, June and August 2027. Each intake has an application closing date and, for international students, a last date for visa submission, and the college points non-EU students to Identity Malta's central visa unit for visa requirements.

Fees are shown on every course page, with registration and application charges listed separately and a visa support document fee for international applicants, so check the programme you want rather than relying on a general figure. Tuition can be paid in interest-free instalments, and the college lists StudentAssist, a financing scheme from the Malta Development Bank offered through partner banks. Students get automatic access to the EBSCO online library, the Moodle learning platform and Turnitin for assignment feedback, and classes are kept small.

Location and student life

SmartCity Malta is a modern business park at Ricasoli, with ample parking and access for students with specific learning needs. Nearby are the harbour towns described in our Three Cities guide and our Vittoriosa guide, and Valletta lies across the water, as our Valletta guide explains. Between lectures, things to do in Malta and the Malta weather guide will help you plan weekends.

The college leadership includes a Chief Operations Officer, and separate admissions, academic, finance and marketing teams answer questions, with representatives in several countries for overseas applicants. For wider context on the island, the about Malta overview covers its history and daily life.

Getting in touch

The simplest route is to choose the course you are interested in, note its intake and your own circumstances, and send a short message. Mention whether you are applying as a local, EU or international student, since application steps differ. It also helps to say whether you plan to study full time or in the evenings, whether you hold a degree or a professional qualification already, and when you would like to begin, so that the admissions team can point you to the right programme and the nearest intake.

To ask about courses, intake dates or fees, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Global College Malta.
