From ice cream to modern hosting

The business traces its origins to 1950, when the late Manuel Cachia started a modest ice cream trade. Carmelo Borg later took over and moved into confectionery, a diversification that quickly paid off, and the firm became one of the leading confectioners in Malta. It is now run by Noel and his wife Bridgette, and catering has grown into one of its main areas, with parties, wedding receptions, corporate events and special occasions.

Mannarinu presents itself as a pioneer of modern hosting, built on fresh ingredients bought daily, more than 15,000 events served and around 90 signature creations a year. Its range runs from brunch to weddings, catering and signature cakes, all with a Mediterranean feel.

Weddings, outside catering and venues

Mannarinu offers weddings and outside catering, with a booking page for consultations and a wedding fair held during the year. Its Curve venue in Kalkara, by the harbour in the Three Cities area, can be reserved at any time for events. A Brunch Bar in Naxxar, with its own menu and a map link, serves breakfast and brunch, and is also available through delivery apps.

Couples often like to be photographed against the bastions and the harbour, so our Valletta guide shows what the city offers. For planning help, an event planner such as 242.group can work alongside a caterer, and the Malta holidays overview covers the wider trip.
