My365 is an insurance brokerage in the centre of Malta, trading from Independence Avenue in Mosta as a licensed branch office of Jatco Insurance Brokers PCC Limited. A broker does not write policies itself: it shops around insurers on your behalf, explains the options and then stays with you if you ever need to claim. For a UK reader who has just bought a flat, registered a car, opened a shop or moved a family to the island, that local middleman can save a great deal of time and confusion.
The branch looks after both private clients and companies, and its motto, Today, Tomorrow, Together, sums up the long relationship it aims to build with each customer. On VisitMalta.co.uk it is listed in our directory of insurance providers in Malta, alongside insurers and other brokers you may want to compare.
Who My365 is and how it is regulated
Since 1 September 2023 My365 has operated as a licensed branch of Jatco Insurance Brokers PCC Limited, company registration C9233. Jatco is authorised under Malta's Insurance Distribution Act to act as an insurance intermediary, holds a licence to run as a protected cell company, and is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority under authorised person reference JTC-5291. It is also a member of the Malta Association of Insurance Brokers.
A protected cell company is a structure in which separate cells keep their assets and liabilities apart from one another, a model that Malta permits for insurance businesses. For a customer the practical point is simpler: you are dealing with an MFSA regulated broker, and every client is treated as a client of the Malta office. Readers curious about how the wider sector is supervised can find background in our overview of financial services in Malta.
The brokerage concentrates on risks located in Malta, although its licence allows it to serve clients across the EU and EEA under freedom of services rules. When the local market cannot offer the right terms, the team can look abroad through an international broker network for cover that may not otherwise be available on the island.
Home, landlord and health cover
Household insurance is one of the core personal products. A standard policy can insure the building, its contents, personal possessions and your liability, protecting against fire, smoke, theft, explosion, lightning, earthquake, flood, riot, malicious damage, burst pipes, impact by vehicles, falling trees and similar events. Valuables such as jewellery, watches, laptops and cameras can be added on an all risks basis both inside and outside the home, with European or worldwide extensions, and optional extras include freezer contents, sports gear, legal expenses and lost keys. If you have just taken a mortgage, the branch can quote cover that meets the bank's requirements. Note that the buildings sum insured should reflect the rebuilding cost given by an architect, not the market value.
Landlords letting a flat or house get a dedicated product that covers the structure, items supplied for tenants and liability if a tenant or visitor is hurt. Where a covered event leaves the property unfit to live in, the policy can help replace lost rent while repairs go ahead. This is useful reading for UK owners who buy to let, and our UK guide to relocating to Malta covers the wider steps of buying and settling here.
Malta's state healthcare is largely free, but waiting lists and limited choice lead many residents to take private cover. Jatco health schemes come in individual, family and corporate versions, from a basic plan for medically necessary treatment of acute conditions through to a hospital scheme with broader benefits and an international scheme. Private medical insurance for new acute conditions arising after you join is also available. Remote workers settling on a nomad permit may find our digital nomad guide to Malta a helpful companion to a health quote.
Motor, travel and boat insurance
Motor insurance is compulsory in Malta, and the minimum legal level is third party cover. My365 offers third party, third party fire and theft, and fully comprehensive policies, which pay for damage to your own car whatever the cause of the accident. Private cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles can all be insured, with options for roadside assistance, personal belongings and personal injury. Certificates are issued straight away, and the branch can also renew your road licence for you, posting the disc or holding it for collection; that service carries a small charge.
Driving abroad is a common question for UK arrivals. Every Maltese motor policy includes the minimum third party liability cover in EU countries and in several non EU states, among them Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, and the number plate is enough proof of that. If you want to keep comprehensive or fire and theft cover while away, you need a Green Card extension, applied for at least a week before you travel with the names, ID numbers and dates of birth of each driver.
Travel policies run from basic through standard to executive, and can include medical expenses, accident cover, personal liability, lost luggage, cancelled or abandoned trips, missed departures and car hire excess, with optional winter sports and weather disruption extensions. Cruises, skiing, motoring holidays and business trips can all be insured. If you are planning journeys between Malta and home, our page on flights to Malta from the UK is a useful starting point.
Boat owners can choose third party or comprehensive marine cover, with hull insurance against collision, accidents and natural events, liability for injury or damage you cause on the water, and cover for personal effects and electronics on board. Small fishing boats and large yachts are both catered for.
Insurance for Maltese businesses
On the commercial side, My365 arranges cover for organisations of every size, from start ups to large companies, and for professionals including lawyers, notaries, architects, engineers, accountants, auditors, contractors, retailers, hoteliers, IT and management consultants and investment advisers. For small and medium sized firms the brokers assess each risk, design a tailored package that may combine property, liability and cyber cover, and help owners spot weak points before they become losses.
Packaged products exist for particular trades. Shop insurance, put together with partner insurers, protects premises and contents, stock, equipment and machinery, with public and employer's liability, business interruption and legal expenses. Restaurant and pub policies cover the same core risks plus kitchen equipment and furnishings, while office insurance adds computers and telecoms equipment and professional indemnity for advice your business gives. Business interruption cover on its own helps replace income if an insured event forces you to close for a time.
Specialist lines include group health, directors and officers liability, factory insurance, protection and indemnity policies, commercial marine hull and marine cargo. Contractors All Risk is highlighted for the construction trade, protecting a building project from the first works through to completion. Entrepreneurs who are still forming a company before they insure it may want to read about CLA Malta's corporate and tax services, another business listed in our directory.
Help when you need to claim
Claims support is where a broker earns its keep. The advice is to put safety first: if a property is unsafe, stay out and call the emergency services, and report theft, vandalism or a serious accident to the police. Then tell My365 straight away, because late notification can mean an insurer refuses to pay for extra damage caused by the delay, and some policies set strict time limits. Speak to the branch before paying for temporary repairs, as they normally need the insurer's approval first.
Once a claim is lodged, the team helps you assemble the evidence the insurer will want, such as proof of ownership, police or medical reports, receipts and invoices, and checks whether the event falls within your policy. The insurer may appoint a loss adjuster, surveyor or investigator, and if a claim is turned down it must explain why. Throughout, the brokers chase the insurer for prompt settlement on your behalf.
Visiting the Mosta office
The branch is at No 100, Independence Avenue in Mosta, a large town in the middle of Malta within easy reach of most of the island by car or bus. It is a short drive from the old capital, which you can explore with our Mdina guide, and visitors who want to stay nearby can browse hotels in Mdina and Rabat. If you are still deciding which part of the island suits you, our overview of where to stay in Malta compares the main areas.
Meeting clients in person is a priority for the team, who prefer to talk through your needs, collect several quotes from local insurers and, where it helps, from overseas markets, then recommend the best fit. The office keeps weekday hours and also opens on the last Saturday of each month in the morning. To start, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page to describe what you want to insure or the claim you need help with, and we will forward your message to My365.
