O&S Shipping

O&S Shipping Ltd is a Maltese company that combines freight, logistics, relocation services, port agency and yachting support under one roof. Its office is on Patri Felicjan Bilocca Street in Marsa, at the head of the Grand Harbour, and it is ISO 9001:2015 certified and runs a quality management system.

Freight and logistics

The freight side offers supply chain management and 4PL logistics, meaning the company can coordinate other carriers and providers on a customer's behalf. It draws on a network of contacts covering almost any mode of transport, whatever the origin or destination of the goods.

O&S Shipping is a member of the Ocean Wide Logistics Network, which includes more than 230 freight and logistics agencies in over 100 countries and allows freight forwarding and NVOCC services worldwide. NVOCC stands for non-vessel operating common carrier, a firm that sells container space without owning ships. Membership of Cargo Connections and the Project Cargo Network gives access to over 100 vetted shipping agents, owners and managers for specialised cargo, time critical cargo, oversized loads, project cargo and break bulk shipments.

Port agency

O&S is a full port agency, acting as local representative for vessels calling at Maltese ports. Its base in Marsa lies beside the Grand Harbour, and visitors who like to watch the ships will find the harbour area covered in our Three Cities guide and our Vittoriosa guide.

The wider capital is described in our Valletta guide. Port agency work is done behind the scenes, so most UK visitors will never meet the team, but it keeps cargo ships and yachts moving through the harbours.

Yachting and maritime services

The yacht agency offers a full range of shore-side services around the clock. It covers yacht formalities and pratique, which is clearance to enter port, along with anchorage, berthing and mooring arrangements, concierge services, supplies and provisions, bunkering, technical assistance, customs clearance, importation and registration under the Maltese flag.

Yacht transport is a major line. O&S works with five global yacht transporters and offers tailored solutions for sailing yachts, motor yachts, work boats, day cruisers, jet skis and racing yachts. It runs regular water to water services to and from Kiel, Southampton, Gibraltar, Palma de Mallorca, Nice, Genoa, Split, Tivat, Fethiye, the Caribbean and North America. The service can include loading from the water, diver services, specialised cradles, deck and under deck stowage, and unloading in the water, as well as overland transport, float in and float out, roll on roll off and container options.

Sea assistance is run under the Emergensea brand, a franchise that began in Croatia and has more than 5,000 members and 70 operators across five Mediterranean countries. O&S introduced professional sea assistance to Malta in 2015 and holds the franchise. Emergensea also supports boat shows, regattas and sailing championships.
