Simon Pools

Simon Pools builds and looks after swimming pools in Malta and Gozo. Based in Naxxar, the company works for private homeowners, villa and penthouse owners, hotels and other businesses, and it covers the whole life of a pool: design, construction, refurbishment and regular maintenance. For UK buyers of Maltese property, that single point of contact can make a pool project far easier to manage from a distance.

The team is made up of skilled tradesmen with a number of years in the pool industry. It appears in our directory of pool services in Malta, and you can reach it through the enquiry form on this page.

Pools designed around your space

Simon Pools builds a wide range of pool types: swimming pools, lap pools, plunge pools, landscaped pools, spas, spillover pools, infinity-edge pools, water features and commercial pools. Indoor pools and pools with waterfalls are also on offer, so a compact courtyard plunge pool and a large villa pool can both be accommodated. Homeowners who want the pool to feel part of the garden can ask for landscaping to be planned alongside it, so the terrace, planting and water are designed together.

The service starts with design. Each pool is tailored to your preferences, budget and available space, and the team takes a holistic view of the outdoor area, from a whole backyard renovation to one specific feature. That matters in Malta, where gardens and terraces are often compact and the limestone setting shapes what is possible. Before work begins, you can book a consultation so the team can help define your requirements and make sure no detail is left out, and you can ask for a comprehensive pool and landscape design and construction quote.

From conception to handover

The company sets out its building process in four stages: conception, excavation, installation and handover. Construction runs from the foundations through to finishing and filling, so the same team sees the pool from first dig to first swim. Its aims are high quality, on-time delivery, client satisfaction and engineering built to last, and it offers its pool services to businesses and hotels as well as to private homes.

Turnkey services bundle design, construction, finishing and maintenance, which suits owners who want the project completed on time without coordinating several trades. If you are also planning bathrooms, tiling or stone, builders and finishing specialists such as Absolute Bathrooms, Tiles and Marble in our directory may help with the rest of the property.

The gallery of finished work shows pools with mosaic linings, stone-clad water features, spa seats, timber-effect decking and terraces overlooking the sea, along with the build stage of a freeform pool and a technician cleaning a pool floor.

Refurbishment and maintenance

Existing pools can be renovated or completely transformed, which is useful if you have bought a villa with a tired pool. Simon Pools also lists on-site lining among its services, and it provides regular maintenance so that a pool and its equipment keep running efficiently.

Malta's long, hot summers put pools to heavy use, and our Malta weather guide shows how the seasons run. If you prefer open water, the best beaches in Malta and the Golden Bay guide cover the sea.

Where the company works and how to start

The company is on Triq il-Burmarrad in Naxxar, in the centre of the island and close to the old capital described in our Mdina guide. It serves homes and businesses in Malta and Gozo, and our Gozo guide gives background on the sister island. Those moving to the islands can read our relocation guide for UK residents, and the about Malta page offers general context.
