Smart Pest Control

Smart Pest Control, usually shortened to SPC, is a pest management company in Żurrieq, a village in the south of Malta not far from the coast. It forms part of SparTech Company Ltd and is listed in our directory of pest control in Malta. The firm is established and growth-oriented, and its customers include households, businesses, schools, apartment blocks and government bodies.

For a UK homeowner, landlord or new resident, the practical points are simple: the team is local, usually arrives within 24 hours, and inspects and asks questions before treating, because treatment without that step has little chance of working.

Approach and values

SPC is built around integrity, ethics and professionalism. Technicians have years of industry experience and are trained by the company, which treats them as its most valuable resource. The aim is to become fully familiar with each customer's environment and needs, and to build lasting business relationships.

The method combines inspection, identification and exclusion techniques with modern products and materials, following Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practice. IPM controls pest numbers while limiting the effect on people and the surrounding environment, and focuses on long-term prevention. The company favours a preventative approach, keeping pests out before they become a problem, and carries out reactive treatment when pests are already present, followed by regular visits to keep protection in place.

Pests the company controls

The list covers cockroaches, bed bugs, flying insects such as flies, wasps, hornets and moths, rodents, mosquitoes, millipedes and centipedes, ants, snails and slugs, fleas and mites, termites, pigeons and woodworm. Each causes its own kind of trouble, from ants in food outlets to termites and woodworm that can damage beams, furniture and fittings, and rodents that gnaw through almost anything.

Warm weather helps many of these pests stay active for much of the year. Our Malta weather guide shows how mild winters and long summers shape the seasons, which is useful if you plan to leave a property empty for a time. Regular visits after an initial treatment suit second homes, holiday properties and shared buildings, where an unnoticed problem can grow before anyone returns.

Who the company works for

Services cover residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural properties. The company uses a combination of pest control products and non-chemical treatments and uses state of the art technology. Its eco friendly approach means identifying the source of a problem first and then treating it.

SPC is a registered professional company, and it carries third-party indemnity insurance. The schools, apartment blocks and government projects on its client list show that it is used to working in shared and public buildings as well as private homes. Businesses that face sanitary checks, such as food outlets, will find the preventative approach and the digital rodent traps particularly relevant.

Digital rodent traps

Among the firm's products are digital rodent traps, a non-toxic, poison-free and allergen-free solution suited to the food industry. Companies that want to see how they work can ask for a free, no-obligation demonstration through the website.

Location and getting in touch
