Yoga Malta is a yoga studio run from Manoel Island, the small island in Marsamxett Harbour between Gżira and Valletta. It offers a wide programme: Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yang and Power classes, stand-up paddleboard yoga and tours, sunset sailing yoga, meditation, workshops, retreats and teacher training. More than 1,000 students have taken classes, and the studio welcomes everyone, from experienced practitioners to people trying yoga for the first time.
For UK visitors, the appeal is the setting: classes on waterfront terraces and beaches, with the domes of Valletta in the distance (see our Valletta guide). Our Malta yoga studios directory lists other studios, and our things to do in Malta guide places a yoga morning among the island's other activities.
Yoga classes and prices
All classes are open to every level, and teachers offer modifications for different experience. A class costs €17. The timetable shows Hatha-Vinyasa on Manoel Island in the early morning and early evening, Sunrise Power Yoga in Sliema from 7:00 to 8:00, Yin and Yin Yang evenings, Deep Rest yin sessions at the Msida studio and Beach Yoga on Sundays at Riviera beach from 9:00 to 10:15. Full Moon Yoga is also listed.
Meditation classes include Breathwork and Meditation and Osho Dynamic Meditation. Teachers come from Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin and Restorative backgrounds. Classes can be cancelled up to six hours before for store credit, which is valid for a month; cancel later and the class is charged. Classes with four students or fewer may be cancelled with three hours' notice.
SUP yoga, paddle tours and sailing
Three-hour SUP tours, without yoga, explore the coast and caves for €60: Blue Grotto in the early morning, Gnejna Bay in the afternoon, and other departures including Coral Lagoon and Popeye Village. The 90-minute Sunrise Paddle and Mindfulness session at Sliema costs €45, and SUP Yoga runs from Ta' Xbiex on Manoel Island. All equipment is provided, including board and paddle, and you pay for any damage. See our Blue Grotto guide for the area and our best beaches in Malta for places to swim afterwards.
The Sunset Sailing Yoga Experience is a four-hour catamaran trip from Ta' Xbiex to the south or north of Malta: a sail, a swim, gentle yoga and meditation under the stars, with water, snacks and tea (no alcohol). Bring a mat or towel, a sweater and a swimsuit. The boat leaves from Roland Marina, Pontoon D. For other boat trips close to Sliema, see Adventure Cruises Malta. SUP and sailing bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours before for credit; bad weather cancellations are made at least three hours ahead, and locations can change with conditions.
Choosing a class as a visitor
If you are in Malta for a week or two, pick sessions that fit your base. Sliema visitors can walk to the sunrise class, those near Gżira can reach Manoel Island easily, and beach lovers can head for the Sunday class at Riviera. Early and late sessions avoid the strongest heat in July and August, and a mat or towel and water are sensible to carry.
Water-based sessions add variety to a stay. A paddle tour to the Blue Grotto area, a sunrise paddle and a sunset sail can all be combined with the land-based classes, and a private message through our form helps you ask which session suits your dates and level.
Teacher training, workshops and retreats
Yoga Malta runs teacher training under several formats: a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in spring 2027, a 50-Hour Rocket Vinyasa training, Yin, Aerial, SUP Yoga, Meditation and Breathwork, hands-on adjustments, inversions and arm balances courses. Training places need a non-refundable deposit, full payment is due one month before the start and attendance is expected at every module in line with Yoga Alliance US regulations. A Foundational Course in Pranayama and Meditation is €200 with a €20 deposit.
Training students travelling from the UK are advised to book flexible flights and take travel insurance, as the studio takes no responsibility for travel. For stays, see hotels in Sliema and where to stay in Malta. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to Yoga Malta.
