Programmes and what you can learn
Coaching programmes cater to children and adults of all ages and levels, with separate pages for kids' coaching, adults' coaching and an elite academy. Beginners and advanced players are both welcome, and each programme is tailored to the individual's needs and goals. Junior players have their own events, and the academy's aim is a personalised, professional route from first lessons to competition.
The wider approach combines tennis and fitness training with mental conditioning and nutritional guidance, so that players can do well on and off the court. Recent news items cover the Malta Junior Open 2026, the Kulu Marsa Junior Open 2026 and a red and orange ball tournament for younger players that drew large numbers.
Support services
Four support services sit alongside the coaching. Physical training focuses on fitness and injury prevention, with yoga and Pilates techniques to help flexibility and stability, and initial tests that are repeated periodically to track progress. Sports psychology is provided with the sports psychologist Adele Muscat, helping players handle pressure and setbacks.
Sports nutrition is led by the sports nutritionist Gianluca Barbara, who provides structured programmes for energy and performance across a full day of training or competition. Video analysis lets coaches identify strengths and weaknesses and develop tactics. Each service has a request-details option on the website, so you can ask for specifics before you commit to a programme.
Facilities at Marsa Sports Club
The academy sits in the grounds of the Marsa Sports Club, with the greatest number of courts in a single facility in Malta: 15 hard courts, one clay court and two indoor courts. The club also has an 18-hole golf course, a cricket pitch, squash courts, padel courts and two restaurants.
Marsa is close to the Three Cities and the capital, so a lesson fits easily into a day of sightseeing, and our things to do in Malta guide and the history of the Knights of Malta give plenty of ideas for the rest of the day, whether you are with the family or travelling alone. Our Three Cities guide, Valletta guide and Malta weather guide help you plan, and the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum and Tarxien Prehistoric Complex are among the nearby attractions in our directory.
