HotYoga Malta, run by Momosyoga, is a boutique hot yoga studio at Triq il-Parsott in Mosta, in the middle of Malta. It teaches heated and non-heated classes, runs yoga teacher training and offers private sessions and studio hire. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.
HotYoga Malta, the studio of Momosyoga, is a boutique yoga space in Mosta, the town best known for its great domed church and sitting almost in the centre of the island. It teaches heated and non-heated classes every day of the week for beginners and regular practitioners alike, and it also trains new yoga teachers. For UK visitors staying a week or longer, the seven-day trial is a sensible way to try several styles and meet the teachers, and for people who have moved to Malta, it is a ready-made routine away from the beach. You can drop in for a single class, take a short pass, or sign up for a longer membership, and the studio's own guidance helps you match a class to your fitness and experience.
The studio is listed in our directory of yoga studios in Malta, and on this page we explain the classes, the teachers, the prices as published and how to book.
The studio and its story
HotYoga Malta opened on 5 April 2014 as the only hot yoga studio on the island, specialising in 90-minute Bikram-inspired classes. After four years it opened a second studio to make space for a larger community and a wider range of yoga and Pilates classes. In 2019 the team closed its Sliema studio and made Mosta its main hub, and it is from here that the daily classes, workshops and teacher training courses now run.
The Mosta studio is fitted with showers and lockers, and its lounge, with its framed paintings, cushions and low lighting, is a calm place to wait before class. Its vision is to be a place to switch off from the outside world and its mission is to offer a warm, welcoming space where everyone can find the practice that suits them, whether heated, gentle, advanced or restorative. The studio also uses infrared heat and red light therapy, which it says helps relaxation, circulation and muscle recovery.
Classes and what to expect
Heated classes include HotYoga Express (60 minutes), HotYoga (90 minutes), Hot Vinyasa Water Flow (60 minutes), Hot Pilates (60 minutes) and Friday Fire Yoga (60 minutes). The non-heated options are Ashtanga Primary Series (75 minutes), Candlelight (60 minutes) and Mindfulness (60 minutes). Heated classes are marked in red on the timetable and warm classes in orange, and each class carries an intensity mark, from low to high, so you can pick a pace that suits you.
All classes are open to every level. If you are new or returning after a break, the studio suggests starting with Foundations Yoga, Science of Stretching or Flowing Beats (an Inside Flow class), then moving on to the 60-minute Hot Yoga class when you want to sweat more. Bring water and a towel; the studio supplies the showers and changing rooms. If you are unsure which class to book, the owner offers personal advice on the right course for you.
Hot yoga can feel strenuous in Malta's summer, so it is worth reading our Malta weather guide when planning when to visit, and a class pairs well with a trip to the best beaches in Malta or a visit to a spa such as the Athenaeum Spa at Corinthia.
Prices and passes
A single non-heated class costs €18 and a single heated class costs €25, each valid for one month, with mat and locker included. Newcomers can choose a Starter Bundle of four classes for €55, valid for a month, or an unlimited seven-day trial for €30 that starts from the first visit and includes both heated and non-heated styles. The Weekend Warrior Pass costs €110 for eight classes over six weeks, on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Class packs work out cheaper per class: ten classes cost €120 over two months, and twenty classes cost €180 over three months, with a free 21st class if all twenty are used within two months. Ten-class buyers earn a free class for each friend they refer, and twenty-class buyers can roll unused classes over if they renew in time and receive a €10 discount on the next pack for renewing early. The three-month plan adds 15 bonus days and lets you pause for up to 10 days, and it can be bought now and started later. Unlimited options include a monthly membership at €120, three months at €330, six months at €650 and twelve months at €1,200, each covering heated and non-heated classes. Monthly members get one or two guest passes a month, access to extra workshops and, after six consecutive months, a free private session or a €10 discount on the seventh month, while the six and twelve-month memberships add bonus days and early booking for special offers and events. Private sessions cost €50 for a non-heated hour and €65 for a heated hour, and the studio can be hired for €25 an hour non-heated or €35 an hour heated.
You can cancel without charge until 12 hours before a class; after that, or if you do not turn up, the studio charges €10. Packs and memberships can be frozen if you travel: the fee is €15 for monthly unlimited plans, €10 for 10 and 20 class packs, plus a €5 reactivation fee in each case.
The teachers
Simona Coscia founded Momosyoga and is the studio owner and director, as well as lead trainer on the teacher training programme. She trained first as a contemporary dancer, is a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 teacher and mindfulness coach, and is also a certified stretch coach and breath coach. Sophie Guedon, a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 teacher who trained at the studio, teaches with a gentle French accent and an artistic approach.
Martha Baldacchino completed her 200-hour hot yoga training in 2018 and also teaches Yin Yoga, SUP Yoga and Wheel Yoga, drawing on a psychology degree and a master's in addiction studies. Denise Anselmo teaches Hatha-Vinyasa yoga inspired by Body Mind Flow, and Inside Flow, which pairs movement and breath with music. Amina Aoun trained at the studio in 2025, is certified in trauma-sensitive yoga, breathwork, meditation and Yin Yoga, and helps run The Continuum, a community scheme that supports newly qualified teachers.
Yoga teacher training
The studio runs yoga teacher training courses led by Simona Coscia. Graduates receive the 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certificate from Yoga Alliance, and after qualifying some go on to teach at the studio, with The Continuum offering support to refine technique and build confidence. The programme covers Bikram yoga and the 90-minute Bikram sequence, together with Vinyasa and sequencing transitions, so that future teachers can build their own sequences. Group photographs from the course show trainees holding their certificates in the studio. If you are thinking of turning a passion for yoga into a career, or of moving to the island and teaching, our Malta relocation guide and digital nomad guide cover the practical side of living here.
