Newform Fitness Club is a hotel-based gym and wellness operation in the St Paul's Bay area, on the north-east coast of Malta. It runs gyms at two hotels, the db San Antonio Hotel & Spa and the Xemxija Bay Hotel, and is open to members as well as hotel guests. The directory record places it on Tourist Street. It is listed with the other gyms in Malta on VisitMalta.co.uk.
The club's theme is balance: fitness, recovery and wellbeing together, rather than hard training alone. That makes it a good fit for UK visitors staying nearby, and for residents of Qawra, Buġibba and Xemxija who want a gym with a pool, sauna and classes under one roof.
The gym and spa facilities
The gym is fully equipped with up-to-date fitness technology. There is cardio equipment including treadmills, bikes and steppers, resistance training machines and free weights for working every part of the body. Management and staff are qualified to help members and guests with goals ranging from weight loss to muscle building, or simply staying in shape during a holiday.
After training you can swim laps in the heated indoor pool, then use the spa facilities: a sauna, a steam room and a hydrobath. As the gym is open around the clock for hotel guests, it also suits early risers and late arrivals. If you plan to train through the summer, our Malta weather guide explains how hot the island becomes, which is a good reason to train indoors and finish with a swim.
For a base in the area, see our page on hotels in Qawra, St Paul's Bay and Buġibba.
Personal trainers and the team
Staff set up a training routine for you, offer dietary advice and provide the motivation to go further. The team includes Luca Schembri, a Maltese and Italian personal trainer with an Advanced Diploma in Sports, Fitness and Coaching, and Nemanja Radovanovic, who is originally from Serbia and is a qualified instructor and the manager of Newform.
Alicia Chaparro, originally from Spain, is a qualified personal trainer, and Miodrag Stojiljkovic is a certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach who builds structured, personalised plans around a client's goals and lifestyle.
