Tribal Fitness is a boutique small-group fitness studio at Imsiebah Street in Mosta, in the centre of Malta. Classes are coached sessions of no more than 12 people, and membership is capped at 50 active members. Use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to the studio.

Tribal Fitness is a small coaching studio in Mosta, the town best known for the great domed rotunda at its centre. It is a very different proposition from a large commercial gym. The studio limits itself to 50 active class members and keeps every class to a maximum of 12 people, so the coach can watch how each person moves and step in with advice. It appears among our gyms in Malta.

For UK visitors the appeal is simple: your workout is planned, your place is booked, and you just turn up and train. For residents, the studio offers a steady weekly routine in a community small enough that everyone is known. Mosta sits close to historic Mdina and Rabat, so it is also a handy base for sightseeing.

How the classes work

Every Tribal class is a coached small-group session built around purposeful training, better movement and consistency. You do not plan your own workout or worry whether you are doing it correctly. The coach explains the session, demonstrates the movements and gives form feedback while you train, and the group finishes the session together.

People of different fitness levels train in the same class. Where it suits, the coach adjusts an exercise, its level or the alternative on offer to match your confidence and experience. You do not have to get fit before joining. If you have a health concern, complete the required onboarding and PAR-Q questionnaire accurately and talk to the coach before training, because the classes do not replace medical or rehabilitation care.

Memberships and prices

Memberships run in four-week cycles rather than calendar months, which keeps your weekly allowance consistent. One class a week is €29 every four weeks, two a week is €49, three a week is €64 and unlimited classes are €75. You can change membership in the members' area.

If you would rather not commit to a weekly pattern, a drop-in gives one class credit valid for seven days, and bundles of five or ten classes give credits valid for 28 days. Bundles can be set to renew automatically. Two further services are Online Coaching, which gives structured remote coaching for €39.98 every four weeks, and a Meal Plan with a recipe library and personalised plans for €29 every four weeks.

Tribal also runs a loyalty scheme. Eligible payments earn one point for every €1 spent, and every 100 points can be redeemed as €5 of credit. Regular payments on recurring memberships and auto-renewing bundles build a streak that adds bonus points, from 10% up to 40%. Points that go unused expire after four calendar months without a qualifying membership or service.

Why the studio stays small

The cap on membership is deliberate. It keeps Tribal personal, coach-led and uncrowded, and growth is never allowed to come at the cost of coaching quality. In practice the coach gets to know the people attending, there is enough room and equipment to train properly, and familiar faces make it easier to keep turning up week after week.

The studio describes its approach as human rather than hurried: clear explanations so you know what you are doing and why, useful alternatives when an exercise does not suit you, and a community where showing up matters more than the weight on the bar.

Booking and getting started

Getting started follows a clear path. You choose a membership, create your account when instructed, complete the required onboarding and then book through the members' area, which shows live classes and spaces. If a class is full you can join the waiting list, and you can cancel or reschedule within the rules for your booking. Members can also record a friend's referral by contacting the studio before that friend makes a first purchase.
