Yes2Health Fitness Club is a community gym with a branch on Triq Windsor in Sliema and a second gym in Qormi. It offers free weights, machines, a cardio zone, personal training and membership plans from a single drop-in session to a full year. Enquiries go through the VisitMalta.co.uk form on this page.

Yes2Health Fitness Club describes itself as Malta's community gym, and the Sliema branch on Triq Windsor is the one most visitors and residents of the Sliema seafront area will use. It is a straightforward, well-priced gym with long opening hours, a mix of cardio and strength equipment, and personal trainers on hand. It is listed alongside the other gyms in Malta on VisitMalta.co.uk.

The club runs two sites, Sliema and Qormi, and the same membership plans apply to both. For UK readers that is handy: you can train near your base on the north-east coast without paying a premium for a resort-style health club.

Facilities and equipment

The gym floor covers the usual bases. The cardio zone has treadmills, bikes, cross-trainers and rowers for a range of fitness levels. For strength work there is a full dumbbell range, barbells, squat racks and benches, and a machine area with cable machines, a leg press and a chest press.

The club's aim is to be accessible, so beginners are as welcome as experienced lifters. If you are visiting for a week or two and want to keep your routine going, that mix is enough for most programmes; for planning around the heat, our Malta weather guide shows what to expect month by month, and the about Malta page gives an overview of the islands.

Membership plans and passes

Prices are set out clearly. Yearly membership costs €320 for one person, €600 for two joining together and €240 for students. Half-yearly membership is €220 single, €400 joint and €165 for students, and quarterly membership is €150 single, €280 joint and €110 for students.

Short-term options are for single members only: a monthly pass at €60, a ten-session pass at €60, a three-week pass at €50, a two-week pass at €40, a one-week pass at €30 and a single drop-in session at €8. A week or fortnight pass fits a holiday well, and our Malta holidays overview can help you plan how long to stay.

Anyone moving to the island for a longer period may prefer a quarterly or half-yearly plan. Our Malta relocation guide covers the wider practicalities of settling in.

Opening hours

Hours are long. The Sliema gym opens at 5:00 am and closes at 11:00 pm from Monday to Friday, which suits early starters and late finishers. On Saturday it is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. It is closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Sliema is one of the busiest parts of the island, and our hotels in Sliema page lists places to stay nearby if you want a gym within walking distance of your base.

Personal training and classes

One-to-one training is available with the club's qualified personal trainers. The Qormi gym lists Clayton Casha, who specialises in strength, conditioning and body transformation, and Axel Bonavia, a certified trainer who builds personalised programmes around a client's lifestyle and goals.

Free group classes come with every membership at the Qormi location. They are circuit training and cardio exercises, and the circuit class runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The Sliema page does not list a class timetable, so ask before you plan around group sessions.

If you would like to compare options across the island, our things to do in Malta guide and best beaches in Malta page suggest ways to balance training with sightseeing, and our Valletta guide covers the capital, a short bus ride from Sliema.

To ask a question, use the VisitMalta.co.uk enquiry form on this page and we will pass your message to the club.
